Meet Kix

Meet Kix—The Low-Battery Malinois! Kix recently spent a night at a volunteer's house on a sleepover, and let's just say his low-key personality really shines outside the shelter! While most Malinois are busy training for the Olympics, Kix apparently missed the memo. He's quiet, wildly chill, and far more interested in being your best friend than guarding the perimeter. Kix is an 11/10 cuddlebug who loves pets and absolutely melts for head smooches. He's an A+ leash walker, happily strolling beside you without pulling, and he takes busy outings in stride—cars, bikes, grocery carts, people, and passing dogs don't seem to bother him. Forget tennis balls. Kix prefers grazing in the grass, sunbathing, and doing dramatic back-rolls on the lawn. He's also house-trained and slept through the night like a champ. Car rides require a little assistance getting in, but he hops out on his own. Keep him buckled in the back, though—he has co-pilot ambitions! Kix showed little interest in outdoor cats, and even during a surprise resident-cat encounter, he responded with curiosity and a wagging tail. Slow introductions are always recommended. Kix has a lifelong hind-leg condition, so short, easy strolls are best. It doesn't stop him from enjoying life—he's simply the chillest Malinois around! Kix has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home. He's a helper dog in playgroups, which means he makes new or scared dogs feel welcome and safe.
