Meet Koko

Insights from my adventure buddies and foster friends: She is such a sweetheart and was immediately friendly. She is very treat motivated and seems to know the sit command. She walks well on a leash and enjoyed playing with stuffed animals in the play yard today. She also likes to chase the smaller balls. She has a wonderful, big personality and goofy ears. Koko is the sweetest house guest. She has definitely been an indoor dog before and has great manners. She has had no accidents and will let you know when she has to go potty. She is not interested in toys at all, but responds very well to praise and treats. She eats very well and takes her heartworm medications easily (with a little bit of cheese). She is very cuddly and likes to nap. She really enjoys physical contact and being near humans. She did well with the other dog in my house and has been friendly with anyone she has met. She is a practically perfect dog who doesn't need much training and will be a great companion. She also willingly slept in a crate I prepared for her so I believe she has been crate trained at some point. She has tested positive for heartworms and she's being treated! In North Carolina, it's unfortunately common to see many dogs that are infected with heartworms (they are transmitted by mosquito bites). Heartworm disease may cause severe lung disease, heart failure, or other organ damage in dogs. It's usually fatal if left untreated. Heartworm treatment is costly. With your support, OCAS can help more dogs with this disease - resulting in healthier dogs that are even more likely to get adopted. Please consider donating to our GoFundMe campaign.
