Meet Leftie
Leftie is a dog who has sustained a midshaft fracture of the left radius and ulna in his front leg. His injury will require specialized veterinary treatment, including surgical repair with bone plating, to stabilize the fracture and support proper healing. Without appropriate medical intervention, Leftie is at risk for ongoing pain, improper bone healing, reduced mobility, and additional complications. The specialized orthopedic surgery and extensive postoperative care he needs exceed what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite his injury, Leftie deserves the opportunity to receive the treatment and support he needs to recover. He needs a safe, compassionate placement where he can receive prompt veterinary evaluation, orthopedic surgery, and ongoing postoperative care, including activity restriction and follow-up monitoring, to promote proper healing, restore mobility, and maintain his quality of life. Leftie is at risk for euthanasia due to medical concerns beyond our scope of care. If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing Leftie, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov. When emailing, please include a callback number.
