Meet Lieutenant Dan. Some dogs have been through more than they ever should have—and somehow, they still choose to love life. Lieutenant Dan is a 5-year-old Malinois tripod living in Oregon, and he’s living proof that having three legs doesn’t mean living a smaller life. Dan was shot in his back leg, and unfortunately, the injury was so severe that his leg had to be amputated. But if you think that slowed this boy down, you clearly haven’t met Lieutenant Dan. He gets around just fine, loves life, and has so much love and personality to offer. His missing leg is just one part of his story—not the thing that defines him. Dan was previously adopted through MAD Rescue, but through no fault of his own, he has found himself back in our care and searching once again for the family who will truly be his forever. If you are within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick the pet up. We do provide transport assistance up to 350 miles. The applicant must drive the remainder of the distance of the transport.
