Meet Lovebug, a stunning 3-year-old American Bulldog mix whose name perfectly reflects her sweet and affectionate nature. Rescued from a local New Jersey shelter, Lovebug is a joyful soul who adores everyone she meets. She has a zest for life that’s as big as her heart, and her playful energy is bound to bring a smile to your face. Lovebug is good on leash and enjoys quiet, short walks where she can take in her surroundings at a gentle pace. She would absolutely love a fenced yard where she can romp and play to her heart’s content. She takes treats gently, is eager to please, and thrives on human connection. A home with older kids is preferred due to her playful nature and her tendency to think she’s a lap dog! Lovebug does have a medical condition that requires special care. Despite two surgeries to address her challenges, she sometimes struggles with breathing and regurgitation when she gets overexcited. She’s currently on a low level of medication that helps keep her calm, and this works successfully about 90% of the time. Because of this, she needs a peaceful home with minimal commotion to help her stay relaxed and comfortable. She would do best as the only pet in the household, where she can soak up all the love and attention.
