Meet Lucy

Lucy’s Foster UpdateLucy has come so far since arriving in foster care! She was shy and unsure at first, but now that she feels safe, her goofy, affectionate, energetic personality has really come out. Lucy is smart and eager to learn. She is currently working on sit, down, and up, and she has already learned to wait for permission before eating her food. She is also fully house trained, although she prefers having her person outside with her while she does her business. This girl has lots of energy and is dying to play! She is still getting comfortable walking on a leash, but once she masters that, she would make a wonderful companion for walks, adventures, and even morning runs. We recently discovered that Lucy LOVES water. Bring out her little pool and she may get a serious case of the zoomies, especially if you add a game of fetch! Other times, she is perfectly content just relaxing in the water. Lucy currently lives with cats and gets along well with them. In fact, sometimes the only barking or whining you'll hear from her is when she is begging the cats to play with her! She is surprisingly quiet. Neighbor dogs barking? Nothing. Doorbell rings? Nothing. She generally only gets vocal when she is extremely excited or desperately trying to convince her feline roommates that they should play. She would likely do well in a loving home with calm, dog-friendly cats and other dogs, although larger canine friends may be a better match. Lucy doesn't always realize how big and strong she is compared with the cats and the two Chihuahuas who sometimes visit her. She means well, but she's a big goofy girl! Most of all, Lucy is looking for her person. She is incredibly loyal and loves being close to the people she trusts. She follows her foster from room to room, loves to cuddle, adores belly rubs, and will happily lie there and enjoy being groomed. Lucy would be a wonderful match for an active household that can give her plenty of play, exercise, affection, and continued training. Underneath all that energy is a sweet, loyal goofball who simply wants to be part of someone's life. Lucy has been waiting for her person. Maybe it's you.
