Meet Luna

Meet Luna! A spirited three-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd mix currently in Reno, NV, whose essence is a joyful blend of puppyish playfulness, wholehearted affection, and cuddly charm wrapped in a beautiful tan sable coat. At about 55 pounds, Luna is a medium-sized girl with plenty of enthusiasm for life. Running around a fenced yard, exploring interesting scents, chasing birds, following a laser, and enjoying a little fetch or tug are all high on her list of fun! Once playtime winds down, Luna happily switches gears and becomes an affectionate companion. She loves people, flops over for belly rubs, and has an endearing, floppy sweetness that makes cuddling with her especially rewarding! Luna is house-trained and crate trained, and she knows an impressive collection of cues, including sit, wait, down, off, bed, house, potty, and come. She is comfortable spending time in her kennel when needed and sleeps there overnight without accidents. She can pull on leash, so positive reinforcement training would help her polish her walking skills and channel her playful energy. With dogs, Luna is selective. She gets along well with a male dog but is not compatible with the female dog in her current family. Her new loving home should have no other female dogs. A compatible male dog could make a fun playmate, with introductions beginning outdoors and proceeding thoughtfully. Her compatibility with cats has not been assessed. Luna has played gently with a six-year-old child, but because she can still be jumpy and exuberant, calm, respectful school-age children and older would be a suitable match with appropriate supervision. She is spayed, vaccinated, and has no known health concerns, although she does have some chipped teeth. Weekly brushing helps keep her coat looking lovely! Luna needs an active, loving family with a securely fenced yard and plenty of opportunities to run, explore, learn, and snuggle. She is not much of a barker, enjoys car rides, and brings an irresistible combination of goofy energy and devoted companionship!
