MANOLO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Manolo would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. Manolo is Looking For: His forever home! This handsome Boston Terrier is ready to leave the shelter behind and begin his next chapter with a family of his own. Manolo is a wonderful companion for joining his humans on walks, outings and everyday adventures. He also does well with other dogs! Manolo has not yet experienced everything that life in a home and a busy community can offer, so he needs a family committed to helping him build confidence through lots of patient, positive socialization. Obedience classes, enrichment activities and plenty of positive experiences will help Manolo become the confident companion he is meant to be. Most of all, he wants patient humans who will give him the time, structure and love he needs to thrive. What My Foster Says About Me: Manolo has been such a sweet and easygoing houseguest! After a little marking on his first day, he has had no accidents in the house and responds wonderfully to redirection. He has also been exceptionally quiet—so far, we have heard only two tiny, single barks! He is unfazed by the sounds of barking dogs, cars and even thunder, making him a great apartment companion. This affectionate cuddlebug loves giving kisses, curling up on the couch and keeping me company while I work from home. He gets occasional zoomies but is usually relaxed and content. He enjoys his walks, does very well on leash and loves taking his time to sniff and investigate everything. Squirrels catch his eye, but he loses interest quickly. Manolo is still learning what belongs to him and may try to chew or play-bite out of curiosity, but he redirects well and is learning to choose his toys instead. He whined a little in his crate on the first night but has done very well since—and happily runs in for meals, his favorite times of day! He is still a bit reserved as he settles in, but he has already made wonderful progress and is showing us more of his loving personality each day. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.
