Meet Mason in KY - Soft-hearted & Devoted

Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Looking for a devoted companion with a soft heart, an easygoing nature, and a smile that can brighten your day? Mason may be your perfect match! This handsome Great Pyrenees boy is already wonderful, and as his soft coat continues to grow out, he is well on his way to becoming an extra-fluffy showstopper. Mason came into rescue after his owner passed away and he was left without a safe, permanent home. Through it all, he has remained a happy, friendly boy who is ready to put down roots with someone who will cherish him. Mason is housebroken, non-destructive, and wonderfully comfortable indoors. He is ready for a dog bed of his own to happily stretch out for a nap nearby. He will even wander into an open crate and settle down on his own. More than anything, Mason enjoys being close to his person - especially when head rubs, brushing, or a little extra attention are involved. Call his name and Mason comes running, sometimes with a playful little hop. He may even offer a sit…eventually, if the mood - and the treat - are just right! He is delightfully food-motivated and has a charming habit of checking hands and pockets on outings, just in case you have a snack. Mason is gentle on leash and enjoys walking ahead, like a true guardian! He likes car rides, hops into the vehicle willingly, and settles in to see where the next adventure will take him. At home, he is generally quiet and tends to bark only when he hears another dog. Mason greets people with a wagging tail, a happy smile, and his signature head rub. While he has not had direct interaction with children, with his gentle nature, he should do fine. He has shown no interest in cats, even when they try to get his attention. He also enjoys meeting other dogs and offers friendly tail wags. He may bow or dash around in short bursts, but he is not a high-energy playmate. Mason would be happiest with a laid-back canine companion or as the only dog, where he can soak up all the attention. Mason is looking for someone who is around often and wants a true companion. A 4-foot securely fenced yard where he can stroll, sniff, and simply enjoy being a Pyr is a must for this handsome boy. Grooming time is another chance for Mason to bond. He enjoys being brushed all over and calmly accepts nail trims and ear cleanings. He is happiest when he is receiving gentle care and one-on-one attention. Ready for a loyal friend who will stay close, lean in for affection, and make sure you never feel alone? Mason is ready to fill your home with quiet companionship, sweet smiles, and plenty of fluffy charm. Give this wonderful boy the safe, loving home he deserves - and he will return that love every day. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. We have many Pyrs and Pyr mixes who need homes.
