Meet Max
Final Forever, for Sweet MaxSweet little Max is available when we open for adoptions on Thursday, October 15, 2026. He is so scared being at the shelter, as this 13 pound cutie’s world turned upside down. His mom, who loved him so much, could no longer keep him - assisted living is not only hard for the humans, it’s also hard on their beloved pets who can’t join them who and don’t understand why. She let us know that he is a great little dog, who loves all dogs, even loves cats and kittens, and was the best pal to her grandson. He loves to be cuddled and carried, but on leash is when he does his best potty business! Please do not comment on this post or message us if you would like more information on Max or if you are interested in adopting him, but instead to come in person to the shelter tomorrow (10/15/26). We are a first come, first served and in-person adoption center located at 430 Bristol Drive, Statesville, NC.Hours: Monday–Friday 12–5 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.–2 p.m. If you arrive before we open, please wait outside the adoption lobby doors until we open to the public. A chair and a bottle of water is always a good idea if you do! If you can give this sweet boy the love and forever that he deserves, in honor of his previous mom who loved him so, we hope you will come to meet him and see if he is meant to spend forever with your family! Please only adopt if you can commit to forever, Max deserves only that. Meet and greets with other dogs and children are always recommended. We don’t know how he does with cats and have no way to test for this.
