Meet Melvin
Hi! My name is Melvin and I am looking for a forever home. I was picked up as a stray and taken to a scary place called a shelter where, after my stray hold was up and no one came to claim me, I was placed on something bad called "the list". Fortunately, a small local rescue came and got me and then contacted BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes! I am a small chihuahua mix weighing in at a little under 9lbs and at around 18mos old, I'm not expected to get much bigger. I was pretty scared when I first came into foster but my foster mom realized this and just gave me some TLC and the time I needed to learn I could trust her, then my foster dad did the same, and now I love getting attention from both of them as well as the ladies down at the vet clinic who have also been super nice to me. I have done well with the other small dogs I have met but I have shown too much interest in those things called cats so a home without them is best for me. I have done really well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of my bedding; however, I would really prefer to be out with you. I like my food as well as treats which I take gently. I'm also pretty good on my leash once I have learned I can trust you. If you would like to learn more about me or meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.
