Meet Millie

Millie is likely a Corgi/mini Australian Shepherd blend who’s approx 20# and 2 y/o. After a short time in her foster home, Millie has shown that she is a sweet, cautious, quiet, snuggly companion. She was found in a TX hoarding situation, transferred to a small overcrowded rural shelter, and put on the EU list. Our amazing rescue partner sprang her for us and she is now spayed, utd, chipped, HW- and getting all the love and snuggles she has missed out on. She is potty trained (she may have an accident at first in a new home with a routine) and not destructive when left alone. She might seek a hiding spot until she’s comfortable in her new home. Millie walks on a leash but not confidently so she’ll need gentle practice and a patient handler until she feels safe and more comfortable. She prefers the company of dogs her size or smaller and will engage in play after she has spent some time observing. She does not care for bigger dogs. Millie would prefer a quiet home without a lot of noise. We have not cat or kid tested her but a respectful child 8+ may be considered due to her sweet nature and even temperament. Multiple children may be too much for her. Millie is potty trained and will happily go into the yard to do her business and a fenced in yard is required. An apartment situation is not be a good fit and we haven’t seen her attempt a flight of stairs so that’s unknown as well. Someone home during the day, medium level activity, and including her in your daily activities plus a basic manners class would be ideal to boost her confidence and bond with her new family.
