Meet Missy

Missy is a young Pit Bull mix with a gentle heart that's growing a little braver every day. As a proud member of our Shy Dog Program, she's made wonderful progress and is learning that the world isn't quite as scary as it first seems. New places can still make her pause, but with a little encouragement (or the promise of a tasty treat), she's usually happy to keep going. One of Missy's sweetest moments? She was too nervous to walk into the office by herself—until another dog confidently strolled in, and Missy happily followed along. Sometimes everyone just needs a buddy to show them the way! Once she knows you're a friend, Missy is all about gentle kisses and quiet affection. She's easy to handle, takes treats with impeccable manners, and was incredibly patient while a volunteer removed a tick. Her leash walking has improved a lot, and she seems interested in meeting other dogs through the fence, suggesting she may enjoy a canine companion with a proper introduction. Missy would thrive with a family willing to keep building her confidence through positive experiences and a fun training class.
