Meet Misty

Misty is a very sweet and fun-loving Cavalier. Misty was previously a commercial breeding dog. She has learned so much about life outside of a breeding kennel and is loving every minute of it. She especially loves yak chews and rubber squeaky toys. She is known to “hoard” them in her favorite chair. Misty loves other dogs and has even been introduced to a kitty without any issues at all. Misty is incredibly nervous around children - never aggressive but will bark and do everything possible to keep her distance and not have to interact with them. She is more comfortable with women versus men and needs a little extra time to warm up to new people. Once she knows she can trust you, she will be your very best friend. Misty has a grade II heart murmur. Her echocardiogram revealed stage B1 Mitral Valve Disease and no heart enlargement at this time. Heart medication is not warranted at this time but that may change if/when her disease progresses. Chest radiographs every 6 months and yearly echocardiograms will be required long term to monitor her heart disease for progression. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Physically fenced in yard - we do not allow invisible/electric fences to be used for any of our dogs. Resident dog to help boost Misty’s confidence and show her the ropes. Financially stable family willing and able to keep up with Misty’s cardio care. She will require chest radiographs about every 6 months and yearly echocardiograms long term. Misty has been spayed, received a dental with extractions, and had an echocardiogram while in rescue. She’s also current on vaccinations, heartworm preventative, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $500 plus tax.
