Meet Mocha

Meet Mocha, a 2 year old Pointer / Staffordshire mix around 40-pounds. She is a petite little spitfire, and full of love. She has a gorgeous chocolate brown and white coat, a few Pointer freckles on her face, and a charming white stripe down her nose. Her body is small, strong and agile, and she sees deep into your soul with her sweet brown eyes. She enjoys running and playing with other dogs in the yard, and she is quick to remind them that she is the boss if they get too rough. She loves to show off how strong and brave she is in front of the staff - she waits for us to enter the yard, then she races around playing with her toys and chasing her dog friends (SO cute!). She is really good at ‘sit’, good on leash walks, and with most other dogs. She is very slow to warm up to new people, but once she does she will adore you endlessly. All she really wants is to feel safe and be loved (and love you right back). She had a rough start in life, she was living in a car with her dad and brother (Marvin and Moby). Their owner was also living in the car and she did everything she could to find a shelter for them. No shelter would take them. We are three counties away, but we made room for them all. They were very malnourished, with sores from being in a cramped space. We got them all rehabilitated and healthy - they are thriving. Mocha has been in terrific hands with Hudson Paws and he is more than ready for her forever family! * Mocha’s person must have experience with complicated rescue dogs who have trauma from their past. She can get jumpy when she is excited to see anyone she knows and loves. She can be fearful of men who are new to her, so slow introductions are necessary. She is very selective about dogs she likes (seems to be better with males). She is toy aggressive and will need a lot of training to undo this behavior. She needs to be with someone willing to shower her with love, she will need a lot of time, patience, and an experienced dog handler. The Pointer is the ultimate expression of canine power and grace. They are loyal, hardworking, and even-tempered. Their high-energy makes them an excellent athlete's companion. They carry themselves proudly and are capable of great speed and agility.
