Meet Montana

Montana is a 2 1/2 yr old, 56 lb. Husky/German Shepherd mix who was surrender to a city shelter by his owner. After a few months of being looked over by families, he was taken in by a Legacy Humane Society foster. He's now enjoying the good life while he waits to be adopted by that special someone. Unfortunately, Montana wasn't treated the best in his previous home but is still as sweet and gentle as can be. He needs a home without cats but could get along nicely with dogs (meet and greet encouraged). He walks well on a leash and will thrive with a family that can continue to provide love, structure, and encouragement. Montana is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He tested positive for heartworms and is being treated via the slow-kill method. This doesn't require rest, restriction and doesn't come with the potential side effects of traditional treatment.
