Meet Ollie

Meet Ollie! A sweet six-and-a-half-year-old Great Pyrenees currently in Danvers, MA, whose gentle spirit and fluffy white coat have earned this lovable boy the nickname “big marshmallow.” At around 85 pounds, Ollie may qualify as a gentle giant, but he seems convinced he is perfectly lap-sized! His favorite place is snuggled beside his people while they watch TV, preferably close enough to soak up every available pet and cuddle. When he is not busy being a professional snuggle buddy, Ollie enjoys playing ball and sharing his playful, goofy personality with his family. Ollie is a low-to-medium-energy companion who is house-trained and crate-trained. He knows sit, down, come, and stay, and he handles being left alone for short periods without issue. New faces may receive a brief bark, but give Ollie a chance to sniff, settle in, and say hello, and he quickly warms up! This affectionate boy is wonderful with adults and does well with calm, respectful, school-age children. Because Ollie has experienced serious conflict with another male dog who also lived in the same home, he needs to be the only dog in his new loving home. He has done well around some other dogs, including participating successfully in group dog-walking settings, but given his recent history, a one-dog family will provide the safest, most comfortable environment for his next chapter. His compatibility with cats is unknown. Ollie is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He manages allergies with a special prescription diet and may occasionally experience related skin or ear infections. Regular grooming helps keep his magnificent Great Pyrenees coat comfortable and shedding manageable, and he does well for his grooming visits. Because of his size and history with another dog, Ollie needs an experienced pet parent who can safely handle a large dog on leash and provide thoughtful management, structure, and positive reinforcement. In return, he brings plenty of affection, companionship, laughs, and wonderfully oversized cuddles!
