Pelican will be attending a special Heart of the Beast + Lucky Dog Animal Rescue dog adoption event on Saturday, September 19th from 12-2PM at Dogma Bakery in Shirlington where the first 3 Lucky Dogs adopted on site will come with a sponsored training session. We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Pelican is Looking For: His forever home! This handsome boy landed in the shelter through no fault of his own. Now he's looking for his own humans to trot alongside on those sniffy walks and adventures - he wants to burn all that awesome dog energy! Making new pup pals along and having plenty of opportunity to run and play is on his wish list along with quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. But above all he wants to know where he belongs, to be under his own roof, to be safe and loved. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? What My Foster Says About Me: Pelican is great in the car; just sat and looked out the window when we were driving on roads/streets and laid down when we were on the parkway/beltway. He is a really happy dog; has been smiling and tail wagging the entire time. He is a big puppy; lots of energy, very playful, loves affection. He and my seven year old female French Bulldog started playing and chasing each other around the back yard immediately. I took him on a walk in my neighborhood and he did great; walked ahead and a little faster than me but he seemed really excited. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
