This sweet 6-year-old, 24-pound Beagle came to us as a stray carrying more than just a hopeful heart—she had a very large hernia that needed immediate medical attention. Since arriving, Penny has had: Her hernia successfully repaired Several mammary masses removed A dental cleaning with some extractionsNow she's healthy, happy, and ready to find the forever family she's been waiting for! Penny loves people and gets along well with other animals. She's a gentle, affectionate girl who is happiest spending time with her favorite humans. Because her intestines became twisted and constricted inside the hernia before surgery, she does have one lasting effect: she may occasionally have a small amount of blood in her stool. She doesn't require a special wet food diet, but she does need to stay on a consistent diet to help keep her digestive system regular. Despite everything she's been through, Penny hasn't let it dampen her sweet spirit. She deserves a family who will look beyond her past and give her the love and stability she's always deserved.
