Meet Percy

Percy is starting over. In a matter of minutes, Percy’s entire life was turned upside down. A kind-hearted human became concerned about Percy and his 2-year-old human brother and called for a wellness check. What authorities discovered was far worse than anyone imagined. The parents who were supposed to be caring for them had been neglecting, assaulting, and abusing them. At first, they tried to deny what was happening, but text messages and videos told the truth. Percy has a long road ahead, but thankfully, his story is taking a much happier turn. He is safe, loved, happy, and thriving in his foster home. Now he just needs the right family to help him continue healing and show him what a safe, loving life is supposed to look like. Percy would do best as the only dog in his home , but he absolutely enjoys his feline friends. He can still have nervous accidents in the house, but he's improving as he learns that his people are there to protect him and that he's finally safe. And this boy has so much joy to give! He LOVES squeaky tennis balls. He loves going for walks. Fetch is one of his favorite games. A fenced-in yard would probably be his ultimate dream. He does wonderfully on walks and even does great on a tie-out. He's been trained and listens better than many of our resident dogs! Percy doesn't need perfection. He needs patience, consistency, love, and a family willing to let him heal at his own pace. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination if age appropriate, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue.
