Meet Phoenix

Insights from my adventure buddies and/or foster friends: Phoenix spent time with us going on numerous walks and living an apartment lifestyle. He sat outside of many restaurants while we ate and just would stand beside us taking in the surroundings. He was introduced to 2 cats where he was hesitant at first but then he was fine being approached by them and having them lay near him. He did great in a crate whining a bit at first but laying and sleeping. He did great out of crate at night just sleeping on the floor beside the bed. He loves the car also, just standing for the first bit but then he would lay down and sleep for longer rides! He seems potty trained and is fine going overnight without going outside. He loves long walks and loves sniffing around but he does pull when walking because he is so excited for all the smells! He’s such a gentle baby and did great walking with a harness compared to just a collar however he seemed nervous and scared with the clipping of the harness. He’s potty trained saw many animals in his time with us and was unphased passing deer and bird on trails. He lets people pet and walk by with some interest but no barking. Phoenix loves belly scratches and did great getting brushed while he slept. He loves giving kisses when excited and does a cute smile to show ibis teeth before kissing when super excited. He does occasionally jump up when excited but he is just showing his love. On my last morning with him he enjoyed a long walk and then just sat in the morning grass in a hill smelling the air and taking in the scene before we got in the car for a pup up! He’s so care free and gentle, he’s just a big baby that would do best with someone adventuring that loves hikes! He definitely would love to have a space where he can chase and ball and let out all of his energy!
