Meet Piper

Piper is a 2yo, 46lb Staffy mix who came to the shelter as a stray, neglected, flea-ridden, and understandably scared. But this sweet girl is starting to show us who she really is, and apparently who she really is… is a professional Velcro dog. Piper is paired with her new buddy Ricky, and the two have been helping each other build confidence. She’s come a long way from the frightened girl who first arrived. Piper walks nicely on leash, knows “sit,” and takes treats with the gentlest little mouth. But her signature move? The lean. Stand next to her and there’s a very good chance you’ll suddenly have 46lbs of Staffy pressed against your leg. Sit next to her and you'll see she truly is a lap dog! Personal space is more of a suggestion with Piper. She has shown herself to be dog-friendly and may enjoy a canine friend in her future home. As always, proper introductions are a must. Piper is sweet, affectionate, a little clingy in the best possible way, and very ready to trade shelter life for a spot beside her person.
