Meet Pippin

Pippin is currently enrolled in the 12-week Puppies 4 Parole program through the Mo Department of Corrections. He will graduate towards the end of November and will be available for adoption at that time. Meet Pippin Pippin is a 2-year-old curious, kind-hearted pup who truly wants to make his human happy. His storyline almost ended far too soon. Pippin was pulled from the euthanasia list after experiencing extremely high levels of stress in the shelter environment. Now that he’s out of the shelter, he has the opportunity to show who he really is—and he’s already making incredible progress. Pippin is smart, treat-motivated, eager to learn, and looking for someone who will give him the confident, consistent leadership he needs to thrive. He is already crate trained, potty trained, and housebroken, and he is friendly with both cats and dogs. He loves learning and responds especially well to treats, praise, structure, and clear direction. Pippin does best when his person takes the lead and shows him what is expected. With a confident handler, he walks well on leash and is making wonderful progress with his training. In just one week, he has already learned cues for turning and release, and he is currently working on leash skills and redirection. The shelter environment was incredibly difficult for Pippin, but it did not define him. Outside of that stressful setting, he is showing that he is curious, kind, capable, and eager to connect with his person. Pippin isn’t looking to be the one in charge—he’s looking for a human he can trust to guide him. Give him structure, consistency, patience, and kindness, and he’ll give you an eager student who genuinely wants to get it right. Pippin’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
