Meet Radar

Radar is a happy, affectionate young Husky with plenty of personality, puppy energy, and determination. He loves attention, soft beds, exploring, and being part of whatever his people are doing. Radar’s life changed when he was injured while chasing a deer, affecting the strength and coordination in his hind end. Just a few months ago he was using his back legs normally, so we’re hopeful that with physical therapy, swimming, time, and a lot of hard work, he can continue making progress. He may use a wheelchair during rehab, but it isn’t considered a permanent solution. It’s simply another tool to keep him moving safely while he gets stronger. And if you know Huskies, you know all that energy has to go somewhere! Radar is currently learning that using his mouth during play is not acceptable, even when he thinks it’s great fun. With his mobility temporarily limiting his ability to burn off energy the way a typical young Husky would, he’ll need a patient family willing to continue working on manners and appropriate outlets. Because of this, we feel a home without small children would be the best fit. Radar is also very interested in smaller animals. Considering his prey drive and the fact that his original injury happened while chasing a deer, he is looking for a home without cats or other small animals. Through all of this, Radar remains an incredibly happy, goofy young dog who is eager to get moving and enjoy life. He needs a family who understands that his recovery may take some extra work, but who will see the fun, loving dog underneath it all and give him every opportunity to thrive.
