Meet Rascal

Meet Rascal, a 4-year-old Husky mix who apparently took the phrase “the great outdoors” very seriously. This playful boy came to the shelter with his buddy Luna, and he absolutely loves to wrestle, romp, and throw out play bows. Luna occasionally has to remind him that even Husky playtime has rules, but Rascal took her corrections in stride. He also met another Husky here and happily joined in the fun, so this boy definitely appreciates a good playmate! Meet and greets are always recommended to make sure they are a good match. When he’s not busy auditioning for the Husky Olympics, Rascal is friendly and affectionate with people. He leans right in for pets and enjoys being around his humans. And if there’s a pool nearby? Even better! Rascal loves the pool and is always ready to make a splash. He walks nicely on a mostly loose leash, with some light pulling here and there, but he’s still easy to handle. Rascal was surrendered because he is an escape artist with Olympic-level ambitions. His previous owner reported that he managed to escape from a 6-foot chain-link fence, so a secure yard is a must. He was kept outside previously but is reported to be housebroken and rides well in the car. His new family should plan to keep him primarily indoors with supervised outdoor time, along with plenty of enrichment and things to keep his clever Husky brain occupied. Daily walks will help keep Rascal happy, healthy, and hopefully too tired to start planning his next great escape.
