Meet Raya (MD)

Raya is a charming 5-year-old, 10 lb. rat terrier and Chihuahua mix with a big personality and a resilient spirit. While she carries a few old scars from a past we'll never know, her sweet heart is fully focused on the future. Raya is a vocal, schedule-loving girl who will endearingly let you know when it's time for meals or activities. Out on walks, she can be a bit barky when passing people or dogs, but she is highly treat-motivated and easily redirected with a tasty snack. When introduced to a resident cat, she showed no interest, so she could potentially live with a dog-savvy cat. Because of a history of painful bowel movements, Raya is currently on a low dose of prednisone (about $10/month). She is doing very well on the medication and has a routine follow-up appointment scheduled to determine whether any ongoing treatment will be needed. Raya loves to be the center of your universe and prefers to have her space respected, so she will thrive best as the only pet in an adult-only home with no other dogs where she can soak up all the love and attention without having to share her humans. She needs a patient, loving adopter who appreciates her routine-driven nature and can offer a predictable, devoted environment.
