Meet Rico

Rico was born in October 2024 and is about 65 lbs. He is a sweet and handsome boy who wants to please. He’s very strong and his Foster Mom is walking him with a gentle leader and a back up leash. He is learning commands and rests nicely in his crate. Rico is an easy boy overall and doesn't require much work! He gets along with other dogs, but is sometimes reactive when seeing new or wild animals. He likes people once he meets them, especially if they have treats. Sometimes he’s scared of new people. He’s pretty young with very white teeth. He was saved from the Nash County shelter on what would’ve been his last. Due to being kept outside, Rico is heartworm positive which is being treated in full by the rescue. He is otherwise healthy, fully vetted, and neutered. The adoption fee is $400, which covers food, vetting, microchip and the spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet.
