Meet Sancho

Meet Sancho! Little Sancho is only 8 months old and has not had the greatest life. He was found as a stray in a rural area and it seems he had been fending for himself for some time. He is in a foster home now and doing well. Sancho is a bit wary of new people but once he trusts you he is an affectionate and sweet boy who loves to cuddle with you. He allows touch all over, picking up, touching his paws and loves to lay on you while he takes a nice nap. He knows his name and has pretty good recall now. He eats well but will hide any treat you give him to save it for later - a behavior we often see with dogs who have not had consistent access to food. Sancho is young and unsure about the world. He does not like be alone and needs a moment to get used to new people. He will need a patient and loving family to help him with this. Continued socialization and helping him feel safe will be important for him. He does not like car rides (he get a bit car sick) and is not yet fully potty trained. He is doing well with leash training but can sometimes bark at other dogs when he feels worried. We can help with continued training in this area. Sancho will do best in a more quiet home without young children. Chaos and noise are just not his thing. He is such a nice little guy but just needs a little TLC while he is adjusting and learning. Sancho will be vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $450
