Meet Santiago

Santiago is a hero in at least one little kitten’s eyes… literally, in his eye! Coming to us as a stray after being found behind a nearby restaurant- his finder stating she thought he had been dumped with food and muddy water. Despite the circumstances in which Santiago was likely left in by humans, he made quite the impression on the responding officer right away- found lying on his side with pronounced panting- he was still both easy going and friendly. The officer also noted that this sweet boy loves to walk on a leash and was easy to get in out of the truck and back here at the shelter, into his kennel. Since Santiago has been here, he met a similarly sized neutered male friend and was so interested in him from the start! He immediately play bowed for his buddy, then showed off his awesome zoomie skills! He is super cute, playful and sweet! Just a little shy at first, then look out… he is melting for playtime and affection. We always recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit for all. We do not have information how he does with cats and have no way to test for this. Santiago is also a hero to a certain little kitten who’s eye was saved with a serum created using blood collected from his samples! Not all hero’s wear capes -some need saving themselves and Santiago is a true hero who was saved from behind that restaurant - now searching for his forever family! All of our adoptable dogs/puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and UTD on all age-appropriate vaccines/preventatives. Adopters will need to establish vet care upon adopting to maintain their new family member’s health and wellness.
