Meet Scarlett

Scarlett is an endearing, intelligent and affectionate 6-year-old shepherd. Her favorite thing beside being with her family is to be outside, or at least watch the squirrels/birds outside in the trees. She is great with older children and other dogs. She is a wonderful dog; her family loves her very much and wants a better life for her where she can thrive. Currently, she is home alone with 2 other dogs in a small apartment for about nine hours a day and not getting the freedom or attention she deserves. She is smart and already knows SIT, STAY, DOWN, COME, LEAVE IT, OFF and other commands. She is trained on an E collar, specifically for off leash work but she walks nicely on a leash with a gentle lead, a.k.a. Halty. Scarlett is food driven, which is great for training. She has been to a board and train. She has lived with children (7 and 9 years old) for several years. She acts the same around children as she does with adults. She is sweet and tolerant, but also enjoys her space and will go lay down in her bed if she has had enough stimulation. She has lived with a slightly older male German Shepherd and she is the beta to him. They coexist well, but are not bonded. She has also been to dog daycare and boarding and interacted with a lots of dogs! Scarlett’s ideal home is one where at least one person is home a decent amount, where she is an only dog (because she’s a little bit of a diva and likes her attention), and where there are older kids, or no kids. A townhome, or a home with a yard would be ideal. She likes car rides and exploring, and would do best in a suburban atmosphere. She loves having bones or treats. If you are a family or person with a lot of love to give and looking for a dog that will provide companionship, gratitude, and a steady, loving presence that makes a house feel like home, Scarlett may be your girl. She’s looking for a kind adopter who will give her the attention, love and care she deserves in her next chapter.
