Meet Selena
Selena: Ready for Her Forever HomeSelena came to us as a stray. Her original owner saw her posted, reached out, and let us know he had rehomed her because he was unable to keep her. Now she is here, hoping to find her true forever home. She is 1 year and 5 months old and understandably a little nervous in the shelter environment. Most dogs are, and as much as we try to make it comfortable, it can still be overwhelming. During her stay, Selena met a similar size neutered male on leash. She was unsure at first, showing hackles, a low fast tail wag, and stiffness. As they interacted, she relaxed slightly but remained cautious. She then met Tank, a larger neutered male. She started out nervous with her tail tucked and body low, but quickly gained confidence and began to play. She even shared her stuffed toy with him. Based on these two meetings, she may do best with gentle dogs in a home environment. Meet this sweet girl in person to see if she is meant to be part of your family. She deserves a home again, and this time, forever. Meet and greets with other dogs and children are always recommended. We do not have information on how she does with cats and cannot safely test this. If you cannot promise forever, please wait until you can make that commitment before adopting.
