Meet Sif

Sif (A143592) is a 4-year-old GSD mix who weighed over 70 lbs at intake!09/26/26 This handsome, happy guy is Sif! Sif was very reluctantly brought to the shelter due to the lack of housing in Fairbanks that will allow pets. Sif was said to be a very well socialized and very intune with his people. He loves being around people and had no sense of personal space. Sif was said to be kennel trained and housebroken, and he rides well in the car. He can get a wild hair and not listen very well at times, and he has been known to jump on people. While he knows some basic commands, a basic obedience class with a certified trainer would be a great place to start with helping him learn manners! Sif was described as being outgoing, friendly, affectionate and rough when playing. He does not have direct experience with kiddos, but his surrendering owner thought he would be friendly with them. However, he might be a little too rambunctious. Please keep this in mind if you have kiddos that are not the rough and tumble kind. Sif was raised around cats and knows to be gentle with them. He was said to be very playful with other dogs. Please make sure all introductions are done in a slow, safe, controlled manner. If you are interested in meeting Sif, please give the shelter a call!
