Meet Strudel (no more applications)

Strudel arrived at the shelter from the city pound on 9/7/2026, when her legal stray hold was finished. She looks to possibly be a mix of poodle and terrier, which could include yorkie and other small breeds. She is a happy and bouncy dog who seems to be around 2 years old. She had been taken to the pound after she was found running loose in town in rather poor condition with an extremely matted and messy coat. We will be having her vet checked and spayed on Sept. 22nd, and the vet staff will also shave her down while she's sedated. This can't be helped as her matting goes all the way to the skin in many places. Her adoption fee is $150. Strudel is a very loving dog who will require some basic training and regular exercise. She needs a home that is prepared to provide her with the regular grooming she will require. She is a pretty vocal little gal so she might not be the best fit for apartment living. We do think she'd be okay with another smaller dog and cats, too. Kids over 5 would be best. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
