Meet Thalia
I have tested positive for heartworms. But, don't worry! OCAS is treating me and they can let you know more about my treatment if you're interested in adopting me. In North Carolina, it's unfortunately common to see many dogs that are infected with heartworms (they are transmitted by mosquito bites). Heartworm disease may cause severe lung disease, heart failure, or other organ damage in dogs. It's usually fatal if left untreated. Heartworm treatment is costly. With your support, OCAS can help more dogs with this disease - resulting in healthier dogs that are even more likely to get adopted. Please consider donating to our GoFundMe campaign. Insights from my adventure buddies and foster friends: Thalia is such a sweetheart. She is all smiles and snuggles. She does not pull at all on the leash and is very good walking. She knows basic commands and listens to them very well. She was super good in public and even better at home around other animals, specifically cats. The kitties were unsure at first but she was not too eager and let them come to her. Soon, they were all laying on the same bed. Thalia barely had any fur on her tail and legs, but that did not stop us from cuddling and playing. She loved greeting anyone who came in the house with smiles and full body wags. Meeting new people came easy to her and she loved socializing.
