Meet Toshi

WATCH MY VIDEO...He’s trying so hard to be brave. beautiful Toshi is only 3-years-old, and right now the shelter feels like a very scary place. His past is a mystery, and since arriving, he has been hiding at the back of his kennel, unsure of all the unfamiliar sounds and activity around him. But spend a little time with Toshi, and you’ll see the gentle soul beneath his uncertainty. Along with using treats to gain the trust of our most nervous pups, our staff and volunteers also give them lots of affection and time out of the kennels. He readily allows leashing and handling, walks nicely on leash, and stays close to his person, seeking affection and reassurance. He’s incredibly sweet and loves getting treats, so you’ll quickly become his best friend. We’re not sure how Toshi is with other pets, but he has walked past our other dogs with a relaxed body and wagging tail. We would recommend a meet and greet here at the shelter if you have a dog at home already. Loud noises still startle him, and he’s trying his best to make sense of this overwhelming new world. This beautiful boy doesn’t need much. Just patience, reassurance, and someone willing to give him the time he needs to let his guard down. Toshi is trying to be brave.
