Meet Travis

Travis came to the shelter on 5/2/2026 from the city pound, when his legal stray hold was finished. We did receive a bit of background information about him and found out that he had been passed through a few homes before ending up at the pound. He's an approximately 3 year old pit bull type dog who is big and strong. He has an outgoing, happy personality. He weighs around 65 pounds. He has been vet checked. neutered, and microchipped, and his fee of $150 is sponsored. Travis has had some basic training and is pretty well mannered. He knows how to "sit" and walks pretty well on leash. He will need some regular exercise as he's energetic, kind of like a bull in a china shop. He's a happy guy who likes the company of people. We're thinking that he would do best as the only pet in the home. We think he would be okay with kids over 8. He's really a cool dog! NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
