Meet Tyler Tyler is the kind of dog who forms an incredibly deep bond with his person. Once you earn his trust, you’ll have a loyal little shadow who greets you with excitement every time you walk through the door and loves nothing more than curling up beside you for snuggles. Tyler isn’t the type of dog who instantly loves everyone he meets—and that’s okay. New people and unfamiliar situations can be scary for him, so he tends to hang back and bark until he feels safe. His reactions are rooted in fear, not aggression. With patience, consistency, and time, Tyler learns that he’s safe and begins to let his true personality shine. Because new dogs make him uncomfortable, Tyler needs to be the only dog in his home. While he has learned to peacefully coexist with familiar dogs after several weeks, he is happiest when he doesn’t have to navigate the stress of meeting or living with other dogs. Being an only pet will allow him to relax and build confidence much more quickly. Tyler is looking for an adopter who understands that trust isn’t built overnight. It took him about 2½ weeks in his foster home before he truly settled in, and the transformation has been remarkable. The timid, worried little dog became an affectionate companion who enjoys spending time with his trusted people and loves being part of the family.
