VALE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Vale Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and retriever mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of July 2026 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 35 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! Vale should go to a home without cats. We haven't seen her with kids, but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. Because Vale is shy, she also needs a welcoming resident dog who will help show her the ropes! Vale is Looking For: Her forever home! Vale is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. She is in her prime as a young dog and hasn't seen enough of the world - she's eager to get her own humans for sniffy walks and romps in parks and all the adventures her family can dream up. Making pup pals along the way would be great, as would going to dog school so she can show how super smart she is. Most of all, though, she wants to know where she belongs, to be safe and loved all her days. In exchange she promises so much love and loyalty. What do you say? Can you see her by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: Vale is a calm, sweet, and loyal pup! Her greatest happiness in life is to be near her human. Whether on leash or off, she's always just a few steps away. She is still working on her confidence, but with patience and kindness, she opens up and learns to trust her people. Once she feels safe, she truly has so much love to share! She is doing well with crate training and walking on leash. She enjoys the dog park and has a sweet, dainty way of playing with other pups. Her future family will be very lucky to have her! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
