Meet Virginia

Meet Virginia! Virginia made the journey from Kentucky and landed foster home where she is getting to learn the ropes and has lots of people and animals to socialize with. Virginia has become one of her foster mom’s favorite fosters because she is such a good girl! “Virginia” is a petite 8-10lbs and growing small to medium breed mix. Best guess is maybe rat terrier and some Aussie to explain her ability to jump high, her love of zoomies, and her ability to sneak out of contained spaces. She also loves to talk when chasing, wrestling or playing with her doggie friends. She would do best with a secured fence so she is contained and can get out her energy. She is also afraid of loud cars and big booms so would probably do best with sidewalks or safe places to walk. While Virginia is a bit of an athlete, she also loves meeting any potential new friend and showering them in kisses. She loves all dogs, cats and humans (kids included) all equally and will snuggle, kiss and play with them equally. She spends her days playing and cuddling with her foster mom and other household dogs who are big and small. Virginia also met grandmas cats who tried to smack her around and she just went back to playing with her toys. Because of Virginia’s love of friend and activity she would do best with a playmate or 2 in the household. Virginia loves to curl up with her foster family and watch TV at night and makes sure she has a paw on you at all times. She also loves to be carried when she is sleepy. Virginia loves to be spoiled and prefers fancy wet food and treats to kibbles. She loves to chew bones and eat with her friends and will cry if she is in her cage. She also loves to chew on ice cubes and chase them around the house. Toys are a must have for Virginia who prefers to leave them scattered around so she can choose what to grab next! She especially loves balls and anything that sounds like plastic. Virginia is the smartest puppy!! She knows how to fetch on command and will also play tug of war with her dog friends. She also is working hard to master her commands “Sit”, “Touch”, “Come”, “Off”, “Drop” - she walks very well on leash and also sleeps quietly at night in her crate and for the short times her foster mom leaves for work or to run errands. Virginia is free when her foster mom works from home and she entertains herself with toys or her dog friends. She also goes potty quickly when outside and is doing amazing with her potty training only having 2 accidents both on potty pads with routine. She will also cry in crate if she has to go or run to the door. Virginia’s ideal family would keep up her daily walks and continue her training, she would love another animal to play with to keep her mind and body busy. She thrives when she can both learn and get attention and praise. She would love a secured yard to play and a family with time to give her all the kisses and hugs she craves. The adoption fee of $550 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm, and any other necessary medical treatment to ensure a healthy new pup for your family.
