Meet Wonton: From Under a Foundation to Forever-Home Ready Wonton’s story started in a place no puppy should ever have to call home. At just 2 weeks old, Wonton and his four siblings were discovered living beneath the collapsed foundation of an abandoned building in Puerto Rico. They were tiny, vulnerable, and struggling to survive. Thankfully, they were rescued, and Wonton has come a very long way since those frightening first weeks. Now 3 months old, Wonton is a happy, playful puppy who is ready to find the family that will love him for the rest of his life. Although his mom is a Terrier mix, Wonton’s primary breed is Beagle, giving him an adorable combination of Beagle charm and Terrier personality. His mom weighs only about 25 pounds, so while we can never guarantee adult size with a mixed-breed puppy, we don't expect Wonton to be a big dog. Wonton loves other dogs, cats, and children and is ready for all the things he missed out on during those first weeks of life—playing in the yard, going on adventures, curling up on the couch, and growing up knowing he belongs to someone. It's hard to believe that the little puppy who once slept beneath a collapsed foundation is now safe, thriving, and waiting for a home of his own. Wonton survived his beginning.
