Meet Yukon
Yukon (A143599) is a 2-year-and-6-month-old AK Malamute who weighed 61.4 pounds on intake but is underweight. His ideal goal weight is closer to 75 pounds. 09/28/26 This handsome guy is Yukon! Yukon surrendered to the shelter and is looking for his new place to call home! It was noted that he is a very strong boy and has that Malamute stubbornness! Yukon was known to break out of crates and unsecure tie-outs (a true escape artist). He was said to be kennel-trained, housebroken, and rides well in a vehicle. He was also said to know the commands: sit and here! Yukon was said to be mushing-trained. He was described as a shy but friendly guy. He can be shy around strangers, but was described as friendly towards children and adults. He was also said to do well with other dogs and was described as “neutral” towards cats. It is very important that slow, safe, and controlled introductions are being made to set him up for success. Yukon was said to get into the trash if given the opportunity and can be a chewer. It is important that you are providing him with appropriate outlets for his energy and chew toys, so he does not get himself into trouble. If you are interested in meeting Yukon, please let us know!
