Meet Zuko

Introducing Zuko! Zuko is a 6-year-old, 56-pound boy who came to us as a stray. When he first arrived, he was terrified of everything and everyone. It took him a couple of days to realize we were okay people; but once Zuko decides he trusts you, he trusts you completely! He can be a little apprehensive meeting new people, but it just takes a little patience, a slow introduction and some treats, and you’ll be rewarded by seeing the sweet, eager-to-please guy underneath that nervous exterior. Dogs: Zuko can co-exist with other dogs, but he’s not a fan of dogs who get right up in his face. He prefers smaller, respectful canine friends. He absolutely LOVES hanging out with our staff dog, Scrunch, and the two have even started playing together! Cats: No cats, please. Zuko is far too interested in them;)Walks: He loves getting out for a stroll, although he prefers his walks short and sweet as he gets tired pretty quickly! Car rides: Zuko’s FAVORITE THING EVER. He is an absolute gentleman in the car and would happily spend the day riding around with his nose up to the open window. Playtime: He gets the occasional case of the zoomies, followed by some serious stuffy toy time, herding ball action, or chewing on his favorite toys. Downtime: After all that excitement? Zuko is a certified lazy bones. He’d be perfectly content curling up beside his person on the couch and just hanging out. And one more thing we really appreciate about this boy — and likely you will, too — he has not had a single accident since arriving at the shelter. He is completely housebroken. Zuko is a really special guy. He may need a little time to feel comfortable with you, but once you earn his trust, you have a loyal, loving companion who just wants to make his person happy.
