Dog with terminal cancer finds foster home

The Fulton County Regional SPCA publicly appealed this spring for a foster for Marley, a dog recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and given roughly a year or less to live. The shelter made clear they were looking for a home where Marley could spend her remaining time in comfort rather than in a kennel or the stressful shelter environment. In a Facebook post on May 4 the rescue urgently asked for someone to open their home to Marley so she could have quiet and care during her final months. The organization emphasized that a typical shelter setting — concrete floors, noise and the routines of kennels — would not meet the needs of a dog in hospice care. The post sparked a wave of attention and support: people shared her story, sent donations and supplies, and emotionally rallied around Marley even if they had never met her in person. That outpouring helped the shelter continue caring for her while they searched for the right match. The search ended with good news: the SPCA reports Marley has been placed in a foster hospice home. The shelter expressed deep gratitude to everyone who helped — from sharing the plea to contributing resources and offering moral support — saying those actions made a real difference in her life. Marley’s placement underscores the impact of community response for senior and terminal pets. For the time being, she is in a home where she can spend her remaining months with comfort and care, and the rescue thanked the public for helping change her final chapter.
