Rescue group provides update on dogs removed from Metcalfe County property

In Metcalfe County, Kentucky, nearly a month after over 200 dogs were rescued from a property, significant improvements in their health and spirits have been observed. Kelly Basham, director of operations and investigations for Guardians of Rescue, reports that the dogs are now free of parasites, gaining weight, and showing signs of happiness. Some dogs required emergency surgeries, such as one with wire wrapped around its torso, and others face more serious medical challenges. Despite these challenges, the dogs are learning to be dogs again with the help of foster families and rescue partners. The case has led to charges against Michael York and Natasha York for second-degree cruelty to animals, a step Basham believes is crucial for accountability. Guardians of Rescue encourages anyone who suspects animal cruelty to report it for investigation and potential legal action.
