Their Person Is Dying: Now Molly & Lolly Are Running Out of Time

Buddy and Friends Animal Rescue, a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) based in Pembroke, Massachusetts, has issued an urgent plea after the owner of two dogs entered hospice care and can no longer provide for them. The organization named the dogs Molly and Lolly and warned that their situation is dire unless fosters or adopters step forward immediately. The rescue said all its usual placement options are exhausted — its own facility is full and a partner in Tennessee, referenced in the post as “Tina in TN,” is also at capacity — and described the post as “a 911,” asking the public not to ignore the appeal and to share and respond quickly. The group also noted the dogs can be rehomed separately (the post noted “Ok to be separated”). Molly and Lolly are described as affectionate and lively; because their owner’s health declined she had been relying on pee pads indoors, and the dogs have not received the level of care they once did. The rescue said they may be timid around new people but appear to be friendly with other dogs, while their reaction to cats is unknown. The post also asked readers to remember the family’s hardship: when the two were puppies, their owner paid someone $25 apiece to save them from being killed, and she did not expect to be facing terminal illness. The rescue emphasized that the dogs did not choose this fate and that their future depends on someone stepping up now. Buddy and Friends Animal Rescue is urging anyone able to help to apply to foster or adopt right away and to share the appeal so it reaches more people. Interested adopters or foster volunteers are directed to apply at https://buddyandfriendsma.org/; the rescue reiterated that time is critical as placement options have run out.
