Meet Apollo

Around here, he’s better known as Uncle Apollo—and it might just be his cutest role yet. Apollo is a lovable Pug mix who has become the unofficial babysitter, playmate, and all-around favorite uncle to some of the littlest members of the OURS crew. From bottle-fed Pug puppies to rambunctious little terriers, Apollo has patiently endured being climbed on, followed around, wrestled with, and thoroughly adored by his tiny nieces and nephews. Watching him with them is enough to melt just about anyone’s heart. ❤️ Apollo’s journey to becoming everyone’s favorite uncle started at the shelter, where an unpleasant introduction involving vaccinations earned him a “rescue only” label. When he first came to us, he understandably wasn’t quite sure what to think about all these new people either. Then Apollo figured something out: people can actually be pretty great. Once he feels comfortable, this sweet little guy is affectionate, loyal, playful, and incredibly devoted to the people he knows. He may greet someone new with a little barking while he sizes them up, but give him a chance to get acquainted and you’ll quickly discover the loving boy behind all that initial commentary. And if his relationship with his puppy crew tells us anything, Apollo has a wonderfully sweet and nurturing side. He’s gone from being unsure about what life had in store for him to being surrounded by friends, affection, and tiny puppies who apparently believe personal space is completely optional.
