Meet Ava

Ava is a 1-year-old Great Pyrenees mix weighing about 50 pounds with the sweetest soul and the gentlest eyes. Her story started in Arkansas, where she was found wandering near a courthouse, scared and underweight. After spending six weeks with a loving foster down south, Ava made her way to Reach Rescue to begin the next chapter of her life. This beautiful girl is incredibly sweet, but the world can still feel a little scary to her. Every day, Ava works hard to build trust and confidence, and in just two weeks she has already made amazing progress. Once she feels safe, her loving personality starts to shine through. Ava will need a patient home willing to continue helping her blossom at her own pace. She absolutely must have another playful, confident dog in the home to help her feel secure and show her the ropes. A fenced yard is also required so she can safely explore, play, and build confidence outdoors. Like many Great Pyrenees, Ava does shed quite a bit — but her soft cuddles and sweet nature make up for every tumbleweed of fluff If you’re looking for a gentle companion and have the patience to help a shy dog learn what love and safety truly mean, Ava may be the perfect addition to your family.
