Meet Freya

Meet Freya! A beautiful six-and-a-half-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix currently in Temple, PA, whose loving, loyal spirit is wrapped in a soft tan coat and an impressive 95-pound frame. This affectionate girl is equal parts outdoor adventurer, devoted companion, and professional snuggler, with a wonderfully goofy side that keeps her family smiling! Freya loves hikes, walks, Kong toys, and time spent playing outside. Daily exercise is important to her, so she is looking for an active family who enjoys getting outdoors and can provide a fenced yard or a firm commitment to regular walks, hikes, and adventures. After the fun is over, Freya is happy to settle in close for affection and companionship. This smart girl has received formal obedience training and knows sit, heel, stay, come, lay, free, and stop! She is housebroken, crate trained, comfortable on leash, and trained off leash with reliable recall. Freya also does well when left alone for short periods, and enjoys car rides. Her one quirky concern is the vacuum, and storms can make her nervous. Freya is friendly with people, including strangers, and she is especially gentle and protective with children of all ages. She loves other dogs and is also comfortable around cats! Healthy, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations, she has no major health concerns, although she occasionally experiences diarrhea. Freya eats three times daily and appreciates a predictable routine that includes plenty of activity, companionship, and outdoor time. Her future pet parent should be ready to talk openly about her needs and continue giving this clever, affectionate girl the exercise and engagement she enjoys. Freya shares an especially meaningful friendship with Luna, and these two girls are best friends! While Freya can be adopted separately, she would love to be adopted with Luna if possible so they can begin their next adventure side by side.
