Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Hope is an active girl who loves being outdoors and spends the majority of her daylight hours outside when the weather is good, often lounging in a kids' playhouse like it's her own dog house! She enjoys being inside to eat, sleep, and relax with her people. She's crate trained, using it for sleep during the night, while her humans leave the house for errands, and whenever she chooses to hang out in there during the day with the door open, just because she likes it. She's also house trained and leash trained - she walks well on a leash, pulling for the first few minutes until she settles into the pace. She especially loves jogging alongside her person on trails. Hope has basic obedience training: she knows "come," though in true Pyr fashion she'll do it when the mood suits her, and she always sits reliably for treats, toys, and the door. Hope is a quick learner who knows how to play fetch, ring the bell on the door handle when she wants to go out, and use a doggie door. She's a bit of a goofball who lays on her back for belly rubs - or when she's feeling stubborn and doesn't want to come inside! She loves car rides, adores the snow, and enjoys a large collection of toys. She digs a bit to find cool dirt, but nothing too crazy. Socially, Hope does well with the resident cat and enjoys playing with the other Pyr in the yard. When on walks, she's respectful of people and dogs she passes, and neighbors love giving her Milkbones. She currently lives with children ages 3, 8, and 11, and loves the kids in her home, though she can be wary when their friends come over and things get busy. Hope takes a while to warm up to new people and is uncomfortable with a lot of commotion; once she gets to know someone, though, she loves being pet and hugged. Hope likes to dine separately from other animals, as she can be protective of her food (just with other pets, never with humans), and she can get a bit guardy of her person if she's receiving attention and another dog approaches. She's fairly independent outside, doing fine in the yard without her humans, but when she’s hanging out indoors, she prefers to be in the company of her people. Hope would thrive in a quieter home, with or without other pets, and ideally with a fenced yard of at least 4 feet where she can spend her beloved outdoor time. That said, she could also do well in a leash-walk-only home. She'd love a patient family that will allow her to warm up to new faces at her own pace, and who can appreciate a dog who's equal parts snow-loving, trail-jogging, belly-rub-requesting goofball.
