Meet Marley

Meet Marley! 🐾 Marley is a 9-month-old little love bug who has mastered the art of being a professional shadow. If there’s a lap available, Marley would very much like to be in it. If you’re walking from one room to another, he’ll probably be coming too. Marley is friendly, confident, smart, and affectionate. He loves people and seeks out plenty of attention, making him a great match for someone who wants a true companion. His foster works from home, and Marley definitely enjoys having someone nearby. A home where someone works remotely, is retired, or is around frequently would be especially appealing to him. He also loves other dogs! Marley has spent time with much larger dogs, including a 50-pound young dog and a 60-pound adult, and has done very well. He happily engages with canine friends while also knowing when to give them space. Marley is about 90% house trained and making good progress. He has been crated both overnight and when left alone and does well overall, although he may bark or howl when he’s by himself. Continuing to use the crate while he finishes his house training would be helpful. His energy level is a nice mix of low to moderate. Marley enjoys several walks throughout the day and loves taking his time to sniff and explore, but he is equally enthusiastic about heading home to relax on the couch and snuggle. He walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and adapts very quickly to new environments. He is also highly treat motivated, which should come in handy as his new family continues working on his training and basic commands. More than anything, Marley wants to be part of your day. He’s happiest following his person around, going for walks, curling up on a lap, and soaking up as much affection as possible. If you’re looking for a sweet little sidekick who will happily join you for a neighborhood walk and then spend the rest of the afternoon curled up beside you, Marley may be your guy. ❤️ This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. PLEASE READ: • If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this. • All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date. • Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments. Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation. For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.
